Back in St. Johns where it turned out to be National Hero's day so most things would be closed. We had planned a private excursion to tour the island but didn't find anyone to meet us. When we called the tour operator's office they had us scheduled at 11:00 even though our confirmation and tickets both said 9:00 so we decided to just wing it and started walking toward Fort James where we had been a couple of years ago and remembered a nice beach. Almost a three mile walk and we found a quaint, rustic little beach bar that had recently opened and spent about three hours there - then called a cab (a driver had stopped and talked to us along the way; very nice guy named Linden) and returned to the ship. Sometimes the unplanned things are the most fun!
